Our therapist has dedicated her career to treating complex issues that are related to pelvic health and has taken comprehensive, specialized post-graduate training to make sure you are in good hands. We will work closely with the team you’ve established and are dedicated to your overall wellness. You deserve to be supported throughout your entire journey, not just brief periods of it.
We understand that finding time for yourself can be difficult. We strive to put YOU first by bringing the clinic to your home! This will cut the stress of scheduling around your work schedule, nap time/feeds, having to reschedule due to child sickness, and removes the inconvenience of a commute to a clinic entirely.
You will be seen by the same therapist for the full 60-90 minute session and for your entire plan of care. By bringing the sessions to YOU, we will get to see you in your natural environment, allowing us to truly troubleshoot "problem areas" vs attempting to simulate in the clinic. This will aid us in better achieving long lasting results and make sure you have time to practice what you are learning. Your evaluation and treatment sessions will primarily be in your home, but can eventually be offered in a gym setting if that is a long-term goal of yours.
We look beyond just the pelvic floor to understand the entire system–we strive to establish the “why” behind your symptoms. Your pelvis is more than just your pelvic floor; our skilled clinician will be looking at your whole body during a postural and movement analysis.
We aim to meet all of our clients on the individual level they deserve. We're committed to more than just addressing your current symptoms or reaching a satisfactory state; we want you to feel relaxed, self-assured and strong in your body.
Dr. Abigail Robson is an orthopedic physical therapist specializing in pelvic health and working with prenatal/postpartum women. Her mission is to provide exceptional care to women and to provide an environment where you are informed and empowered.
Optimal pelvic floor health is crucial for addressing various concerns, including but not limited to incontinence, nocturia (having to urinate frequently at night), and urinary urgency/frequency. Additionally, we specialize in alleviating bowel-related issues such as constipation, bloating, and abdominal pain.
We can help with any type of pelvic pain. Whether your symptoms started during the pregnancy or postpartum periods, or you have had an underlying condition for some time, regardless of ever having children or not- our physical therapist can help.
The pelvic floor plays a vital role in sexual activity, and we are firm believers that everyone deserves to experience pain-free and pleasurable intimacy. Our physical therapist will take time to review your history and educate you on how pelvic floor therapy can help.
During our birth prep sessions, we'll delve into the stages of labor, exploring what your body undergoes during each phase. We will go through breathing mechanics and pushing mechanics for labor and delivery, as well as explore various birthing positions that suit your unique needs and body. We will educate you on hip mobility patterns and movements to best support your baby and birth. We will also help both you and your partner develop your birth plan.
Many moms have postpartum obstacles like diastasis recti, prolapse, incontinence, painful intimacy, scar tissue (vaginal tears or C-section), or just difficulty returning to recreational activities. These things are COMMON, but are not NORMAL - reach out to learn more.
The pelvic floor is often the missing piece with low back, hip or tailbone pain! We can help resolve the underlying 'why' and prevent unnecessary injections or even surgery.
It is especially important for new moms to seek therapeutic guidance, as we can experience issues ranging from chronic back pain to mommy’s thumb and nursing neck, if we don't watch our body mechanics from the start.
